Amazon Email Automation: 3 Tips for Getting the Most Out of Feedback GeniusCindy Snow
Buyer-Seller Messaging is still the best way to communicate with Amazon shoppers. And Feedback Genius is the best way to automate Amazon emails. Here are 3 tips from Product Manager Cindy Snow for getting the most out of the tool.
Before you start anything new—whether it be traveling, a new purchase or learning a new software—it always helps to have guidance to ease the learning curve. We all know how frustrating it is to start something, struggle with it, and discover that we could have saved time and been more effective.
As the product manager of Feedback Genius, I want to make sure you’re successful in automating your Amazon Buyer-Seller Messaging. But I recognize that sometimes the opportunities are overwhelming, so I want to help by sharing my top 3 tips for getting the most out of Feedback Genius.
Tip #1: Begin with an email template
“Only rookies write from scratch…” This is what all-star copywriter Joanna Wiebe of Copyhackers has to say when it comes to starting a new writing project. And she’s right!
Use this philosophy for your Amazon Buyer-Seller emails. You started selling to make money your own way—not to be a professional copywriter. Luckily there’s help.
Feedback Genius comes with 12 emails templates out of the box. The templates available will help you ask for seller feedback and product reviews, provide customer service, show appreciation, or deliver an instructional PDF.
Best of all, each template is customizable with from the subject line, the body copy, and the smart variables. You can make each template unique to your business. Which brings me to my next tip…
Tip #2: Include branding in your messages
Your brand is what people say it is—not what you say it is. It’s your business’ reputation. With a strong brand, people will have a positive perception about who you are, and will buy from you more confidently. By actively building your brand identity, you can help influence that positive perception.
One of the more effective ways to influence how buyers perceive your brand is with relevant Buyer-Seller messages. You probably already know to ensure your message always references the product the buyer purchased. But you should also include visuals! Graphics are the fastest way to communicate your branding. Use Feedback Genius’ product image variable and your brand’s logo to identify you with your product. You’d be surprised how many accounts I see with emails that have zero branding in their emails. Adding the product image variable and your logo takes a total of five minutes to do and makes a great impact.
But you can—and must—go much further than just your logo to create a brand. How you talk about your products is essential to creating a strong brand perception. And each email you send to a buyer is an excellent opportunity to create a strong brand sentiment outside of creating a quality product.
Shoppers take a leap of faith when they buy your product online. They can’t see, hold and feel your product prior to purchase. They rely on what previous buyers have said about the product by way of reviews. Feedback Genius provides you a huge opportunity to solicit – and influence – seller feedback and product reviews – automatically.
Tip #3: Don’t set and forget your messages—run tests to optimize for success
We all have 100 different things every day competing for our attention. That’s why it’s so easy to complete a task, close it, and move on. But when it comes to your automated Amazon email messages, you need to be more proactive. If you were preparing for a marathon you wouldn’t run the same route and distance every day, you’d change things up to make your training the most impactful. The same is true when it comes to your business – invest a little time to train.
By using Feedback Genius’ templates and variables, you’re able to create a compelling message. And once you’ve gotten messages for all of your products running, it’s time to see what is and isn’t working. Within a few weeks, you’ll notice that some messages do better than others. This is when you want to dig into what’s going on.
You can test your messages against each other with Feedback Genius’ A/B split testing feature. With A/B testing you compare two variations of a message’s subject line in order to see if one performs better than the other in terms of opens. You can go even deeper by A/B testing each of your messages’ bodies to see which version gets more clicks.
Once you begin testing your messages against each other you’ll more than likely see only small percentages of improvement. But this is how you’ll steer your messages and business in the right direction. Your success is a combination of many small steps in the right direction.
Whether you’re new to Feedback Genius or you’re a seasoned pro, there’s always something to learn and ways to improve your workflow. By implementing these three tips into your Buyer-Seller Messaging strategy you’ll write better emails, increase your brand recognition, and hit more of your seller feedback and product review goals.
And if you aren’t automating your Amazon Buyer-Seller messages yet, then there’s no time like the present to start your 30-day trial of Feedback Genius.
