- amazon business, amazon seller news, policy update, prime day, sales tax
Well, when it rains, it pours, and this week sees a heavy downfall of important news releases affecting Amazon seller success. Normally, I’d post these things in our weekly ICYMI Friday post, but the news is just so plentiful, potentially costly, and time sensitive. And much of it requires action on your part.
That said, here’s the scoop in chronological order. One or more of these will likely apply to all Amazon sellers, so take note, follow up, and make the necessary changes to your operation. It’s going to be a very busy June for Amazon Sellers!

Customers use PPU information to compare and evaluate products during their shopping journey. To deliver a complete, consistent, and accurate PPU experience, Amazon is implementing new data requirements for U.S. sellers. Consumables will be affected, including (but not limited to) Beauty, Health, and Grocery. Changes apply not only to new listings but existing ones as well (albeit in different action required). This one will be a huge help to buyers and it should have been in effect from the start, but here we go and the turnaround is fast. “Beginning June 19, 2019, you will be required to provide phone model compatibility information on your wireless accessory product pages. To help reduce returns and negative reviews, and help ensure a positive customer experience.” More details, as well as how to update your wireless accessory ASINs, how to identify which ASINs require this update, and how to enhance those listings in bulk to meet the new requirements can all be found in the info and links here.

No, Amazon has still not shared the Prime Day 2019 date. However, they have shared the date for having your inventory in Amazon fulfillment centers: Thursday, June 27.
