When selling online your messages are your main interactions with buyers. These impressions are paramount for maintaining a professional and competent reputation with your customers. Feedback Genius can help make sure all of your messages are mistake free with our test message feature.
Test messaging allows a seller to construct a message, and see the final product before sending it out to customers. This gives the seller the advantage of ensuring their format, links, attachments, and filters are all functional. These emails will not actually be sent to your buyer. Test messages are only visible in the Sent tab of Feedback Genius. You can click on them and preview the content.
There are two types of test messages:
- Messages that you save and send to your test email (ie. When you click on “Save and Send Test Message”) Feedback Genius does not have a real customer order from which to pull in details. When sending the test message, we populate the order details with fictitious content, including a fake Order Id, buyer name, product, etc. So do not be alarmed when your email variables populate with words like “Test” or links containing “TEST-ORDER-ID” ETC.
- Messages Feedback Genius generates. To test the actual content of a message sent to a buyer, leave the message in Test Mode until it generates a test message for you. Once you receive a new order, any messages in test mode will send a message. This message will only be seen in the Sent tab of Feedback Genius. This can be alarming at first because you will see Test messages with Order IDs. Essentially, this is Feedback Genius’ way of saying you had an order that qualified for your message. And if the message was Active, it would have been sent to your customer. But because the message is in Test mode, only a Test message was generated. Because these type of test messages are based off real order events, they do contain real order information. These are those type of test messages.
Additionally, your customer will never see your “From” email address. All messages sent through Feedback Genius go through Amazon’s Buyer-Seller messaging system. The messages originate from Feedback Genius and are sent to Amazon’s email system using the special email address you see for the buyers (they look like this: email@example.com). When sending “Test” messages, your email is not scrambled because it has not gone through Seller Central. Amazon’s system will put in your seller name, and a similar, cryptic-looking email address in the From address, and send that to the buyer. So the messages sent through Feedback Genius will always have your proper Amazon selling name when viewed by the buyer.
Test messaging is an important tool to have in your seller kit to keep your messaging credibility and quality high. Feedback Genius can help keep your messages professional. Test messaging could easily be the difference between an effective message, or an embarrassing mistake.
