Just in time for the busy Q4 2018 holiday shopping season, Feedback Genius has released two updates to help Amazon sellers optimize their Buyer-Seller communication, and get more product reviews.
The goals behind these two updates are, first, to give sellers a quick overview at how well each of their messages is performing; second, to improve the effectiveness of their product review request emails by making them more visual while staying 100% compliant with Amazon’s Terms of Service.
Individual Message Open Rates
Amazon sellers no longer have to click on an individual message to see its open rate percentage via the analytics option. Instead, a seller can get a quick glance at how well their messages have performed over the past 30 days from the Messages table. But if a seller wants more detailed information like the number of messages sent and open, they can click the three dots on the far right to see more.
What’s an acceptable open rate percentage?
We get this question a lot. And unfortunately, we can’t give a set-in-stone number, similar to ACoS in advertising, because performance metrics vary from seller to seller. But you should get an open rate of at least 8%.
If you notice that your open rate is alarmingly low, there are several things you can do. The easiest and most effective place to start is with the subject line. That’s because a buyer will at least see the subject in their inbox, regardless of them opening the email or not.
And if you’re not sure whether one email subject line works better than another, you can A/B test two subject lines for a period of time to get definitive data as to which one is more effective.
Five Stars Linking to Amazon Product Review Page
Our second update is designed to go beyond email open rates and to improve product review rates. Sellers can use the Feedback Genius variable [[stars-review-link]] within their email copy to automatically display five empty (or white) stars.
