This past week I registered the trademark Sapone Soap Mold using the website LegalZoom.com.
This is the step I needed to take to legally protect others from using Sapone Soap Mold to sell their own soap mold. It costs $440 – the majority of that going to the United States government to register the name. The brand name Sapone Soap Mold will have the same level of protection as any brand name such as Nike, Kellogg’s, or KitchenAid.
This step allows me to put the TM (short for trade mark) in the title of the product name. If others try to sell using the same ASIN, I can ask Amazon to remove them and Amazon should take these sellers down. This will be key to compete against Chinese competitors who can easily replicate any design that sells under Sapone Soap Mold.
