One of the most versatile features of Feedback Genius is the ability to use variables in Messages. Using variables in your messages will allow you personalize interactions with customers, without having to draft every message individually.
There are two types of variables, email variables and link variables. While both function similarly, there are nuances.
Email variables are essentially information placeholders for your messages. They allow you to insert dynamic information that will change for each order, like a product name or the buyer’s name. This allows you to tailor your messages from general to specific.
Link variables function similarly to email variables, but with dynamic hyperlinks. Using link variables will allow you to cleanly and concisely connect your customers to your product or seller feedback page.
To use Variables, start by clicking “Messages” at the top of your screen and then select the template you wish to edit. From the Content tab, you can directly add variables into your message; just treat them like a normal word. At the top of the “Content” tab you can also access a link to our full list of available variables, by clicking on “View all available variables” link. (Directly below the “View all available variables” link you can also access an additional in depth guide on how variables work) Remember, variables are contained within two sets of brackets.
If you’re new to Feedback Genius, please have the “available variables” page open for reference.
Here are some examples of how variables will look inside the content section and how they will be rendered to the customer.
For example: [[first-name]] Would appear as: John (customer’s first name will auto-insert based on the order)
With link variables, the link text can be changed by adding a colon directly after the variable, but still contained within the brackets.
For example [[order-link:View Order on Amazon.com]] Would appear as: View Order on Amazon.com
As with all Feedback Genius features, please feel free to contact our customer support team @ email@example.com if you have additional questions or concerns. Thank you!
