Commitment to Community: Statement Regarding Coronavirus

Commitment to Community

Like most companies, Seller Labs has a vision, a mission statement, an industry identity, and a value proposition that drives our organization and the decisions that we make. In addition, we have four pillars that we feel represent our internal and external values. Those pillars are:

  • People
  • Customer Success
  • Innovation
  • Community

Whenever we discuss any of our pillars, we talk about the internal and external value. For example, we look at our community not just as the places where our offices are located but as an inclusive mindset wherever we engage with others on behalf of our brands. We keep the community, as well as our other pillars, in mind with every interaction, event, and decision.

COVID-19 (coronavirus) has presented a unique situation, one that impacts everyone, but one that is especially concerning for eCommerce entrepreneurs who travel extensively and participate in global trade. We’ve been watching the evolution and transmission of coronavirus and we’ve decided to take action based on the following two principles:

  1. Social Responsibility: We believe that individuals should be able to make the decisions that are best for them, their families, and their communities. Our company should not (and will not) add a disclaimer of “unless necessary.” There are no caveats and there is no small print. The safety and security of our people and their many communities come first. No exceptions.
  2. Social Distancing: While numbers are still coming in and the full extent of the virus will not be known for months, it’s clear that communicability and contagion are of the greatest concern. Creating a system that allows our employees to participate in their work while protecting themselves (and others) is our focus.

Therefore, effective immediately and for the time being, Seller Labs and X-Cart will not be participating in any physical events such as trade shows, conferences, or summits. In addition, we’ve encouraged our employees to take advantage of our work-from-home policy if they are feeling ill or they are concerned about contagion.

Seller Labs and X-Cart are open for business. All of our team members are equipped with laptops, video conferencing tools, and cell phones. If you were planning to connect with us one on one at an upcoming event, we encourage you to reach out, set up an appointment, and join us on a call. We’re here and we’d love to hear from you.
