We have been releasing lots of great new updates to Feedback Genius. One of those most recent updates is a new message editor where you can further customize and format your messages’ content. Not only can you adjust the formatting of your content, but you can also easily add custom links, images, and attachments within the message editor. Changing up your messages’ format and content will make your messages stand out and add an extra punch to your content! We are going to walk you through how to do this in Feedback Genius.
How do I access and use it?
To edit your message content, select the message you would like to edit from the Messages dashboard.
From here, either type in your text or copy and paste your content into the text editor. Above the actual content of your message are some formatting options. From this menu, you can edit how your text looks, as well as how it is formatted in your message.
Hovering above each icon will explain what the button does, and remember you can always click “Undo” if you do not like the changes you just made (the counter clockwise symbol). You can bold, italicize, change the font and font size, and do plenty of other things to emphasize certain parts of your message.
You can also format your content into ordered lists or various paragraph styles using the format buttons.
There are a few other features you can use with the new text editor as well. You can now easily insert any custom links into your messages by clicking on “Insert Link” (chain symbol). Then just copy and paste the URL into the pop up box. You can even designate whether you want the link to open in a new browser tab. After inserting the link you can edit the style of link. If you are using your own custom URLs, please do keep in mind Amazon’s Prohibited Seller Activities which we provide as a reference above the text editor.
Additionally, you can easily add images to your messages by directly uploading the image to Feedback Genius! You can do so by clicking on the mountain landscape icon. We go more in depth about how to add images and create custom buttons here.
If you are on the Small Plan and above, you can add attachments to your message as well. Clicking on the “Paper Icon” will allow you to upload your attachment. The following file types are supported by Amazon: .txt, .pdf, .doc, .docx, .jpg, .gif, .tiff, .bmp, .png. We allow your attachments to be up to 8MB in size, but we recommend keeping the attachments under 1MB (5MBs maximum). This is to avoid issues with Seller Central’s messaging system rejecting the attachment, as well as forcing your buyers to download a large message.
You can shrink PDF files using the free service at smallpdf.com, or you can shrink your images using the free service at picresize.com. These will typically not reduce the resolution quality but you can make your file smaller for faster download speeds.
Finally, there are a few extra tools to make editing your messages even easier. You can always undo any changes you have made to your content by clicking on “Undo.” Additionally, if you are copying and pasting content into the text editor, we always recommend that you use the clear formatting option, also known as the eraser icon, before proceeding to format your content in Feedback Genius. If you copy and paste your content from another source, it can sometimes pull along some extra formatting that will affect the way your content looks and how Feedback Genius variables work. Clicking on “Clear Formatting” clears any unnecessary extraneous formatting and reverts all text back to the same format. To clear the formatting, click on the “Eraser” icon.
The last button on the menu is “Code View”
If you or anyone on your team knows how to code using HTML or CSS, you can copy and paste your code into the message’s content while viewing “Code View.” And of course, please keep in mind Amazon’s Allowed HTML Tags and CSS Attributes while doing so. This is a great way to make your messages stand out by adding a custom template.
Formatting your messages and adding extra content such as links and images is now easy to do with no coding knowledge required; it’s a great way to make your messages stand out.
